 IMPORTANT NOTICE: It is Holo-Krome policy to produce metric socket screw products to the most current ANSI and ISO standards. However as international standards are rationalized it is possible that products supplied may conform to standards which differ on minor non critical dimensions or tolerances.

As the changeover to metric fasteners has occurred, users of socket screws have become concerned at being forced to purchase products to European standards-standards which do not ensure the tolerances for strength level expected from quality socket screw products.

Through the efforts of the American National Standards Organization, this problem is now being solved. ANSI standards have been issued for many products included in the accepted range of socket screw products-standards which conform to the dimensions, tolerances and strength levels expected by industry.

The technical information included in the following pages conforms to the relevant ANSI and ISO standards where published. In instances where agreed ANSI or ISO standards are as yet unavailable, the information shown conforms to current industry practice.

Holo-Krome Strength Grades -Socket Head Cap Screws
  Metric Socket Head Cap Screw Strength Designations:
The chart below compares the strength levels of currently available inch series products with those of metric socket head cap screws. It should be noted that ASME/ANSI B18.3.1M specifies socket head cap screws only to Grade 12.9. a strength level comparable with existing inch series products.
